Do What God Says Is Good
3 John 1:11 TPT says…..
11 Delightfully loved ones, don’t imitate what is evil, but imitate that which is good. Whoever does good is of God; whoever does evil has not seen God.
Dear Reader,
We can not know what God says is good without reading his WORD. We have to MAKE TIME to read the WORD of God on a daily basis. Whether it’s five, ten, thirty minutes, an hour or more, God, as our Father wants to see us make time for Him. How would it make you feel if your children made plans to just stop and spend time with you on purpose, just to be around you and talk to you with no strings attached, just because they love you and want to grow in relationship with you? That’d make us feel REAL good to say the least. Well, imagine just how much more good it makes our Heavenly Father feel when we do just that, to Him. He’s not just this judge who sits on a throne awaiting “judgment day.” He’s a LOVING Father who longs to spend time with us and hear from us often!
When you’re in the vehicle, talk to Him.
In the shower, talk to Him.
At the grocery store, talk to Him.
At the gas station, talk to Him.
He doesn’t only want to hear from you when you’re in trouble or you’ve “messed up.” That is not relationship.
He wants us learning of Him and His ways and then we must do what it takes to line up ourselves with the WORD of God. God said in 1 Samuel 2:30 NLT “I will honor those who honor me.”
The best way to know exactly and clearly what someone wants, is by getting to know them. Then, after much time, you won’t even have to ask them questions about certain things anymore. You’ll know what they like and what ticks them off. You’ll learn of their desires and wants. You’ll no longer have an “idea” about them, you’ll KNOW them, personally.
A good parent doesn’t want their kids to “know about them.” A good parent wants their kids to KNOW them. To know what makes them happy, to know what makes them sad. To know their likes and dislikes. And so on.
God, is a GOOD Father. He’s the greatest father of ALL TIME! We wouldn’t even know what love ever was if it wasn’t for Him (1 John 4:8), and we wouldn’t even be capable of loving others had it not been for him loving us FIRST (1 John 4:19). Our FIRST love is God. And HIS love is IN those who have received Jesus into their hearts as Lord and savior (Romans 5:5).
God’s love is super contagious. It’s a substance we do not mind to be absolutely filled with. His love in us will cause us to have such compassion on others. His love in us will lead us to go help that family out. His love in us will ignite a fire in us to go reach and save the lost from a burning hell.
When we operate in the love of God, EVERYWHERE, our eyes are then opened to the realm of love unlike ever before. And that realm of love is the realm of God. To be Godly, is to see and live life through the eyes of love. It’s seeing life, people, and things through a completely different lens then the way the world sees.
We can not see people the way God does if we don’t know how He sees them. We can live by His WORD and do what He says when we know HIM.
